France wins women’s relay in Ruhpolding, Ukraine is fifth

This is the best result for our women’s relay team since 2021

Team France won the women’s relay in the fifth stage World Cup 2023/24 biathlon in German Ruhpolding.

The French women completed the course without penalty loops, using four additional rounds. The Swedish team was less than 9 seconds behind the leader. Also on the podium was the German team.

Team Ukraine During the race, we claimed medals: after the first stage (which was opened by Irina Petrenko), our team was in first place, after the second (Julia Jima) – in third. However, it was not possible to stay in the medal zone. However, at the last stage, Kristina Dmitrenko managed to raise the team from sixth to fifth position – the highest for Ukraine in women’s relays since December 2021.

Let us remind you that Irina Petrenko returned to the main team of the Ukrainian national team for the relay race – Elena Gorodnaya ran it in Oberhof.

Tomorrow, January 11, the men’s relay will take place at the World Cup in Ruhpolding.
