The Ukrainian goalkeeper played another high-quality match – he helped out, he didn’t bring
Benfica shot in a productive home match Braga and reached the quarterfinals Portuguese Cup – 3:2.
Ukrainian legionnaire Orlov Anatoly Trubin already in the very opening he was left without a wedge shield. After the set piece, he reacted to a low shot, but the rebound from Joao Mario left the goalkeeper out of work. In general, Trubin played to his strength: he helped out, did not bring (unlike his colleague from Braga). He made a couple of good saves – just before the opening of the scoring and in the middle of the second half.
In total, this season the 22-year-old goalkeeper played 22 matches for the Portuguese team, in which he conceded 19 goals. In nine fights, the Ukrainian kept a clean sheet.
In the last five minutes of the first half, Roger Schmidt’s team not only won back, but also took the lead. First, Orkun Kekcu brought Rafa Silva one on one with Lukas Hornicek, and then Artur Cabral hit the Czech with a shot from an acute angle – the goalkeeper let the mouse go in this episode.
Braga bounced back in the very opening of the second half – Rodrigo Salazar hit a touch-and-go rebound with crazy strength and accuracy – again without a chance for Anatoly.
The winning goal came at the end of the half – Fredrik Aursnes scored it, and Cabral, following Rafa, scored a goal + assist.
The victory allowed the Eagles to advance to the quarter-finals of the Cup. Trubin’s team will play the next match in the championship on January 14 against Rio Ave.
