The 2024 EURO match in Dusseldorf was attended by 53,586 spectators
Preliminary round match European Championship 2024 between men’s teams Germany And Switzerland became the most visited in handball history.
The record was set on January 10 in Düsseldorf at the Merkur Spiel Arena. The match, the debut for the German team at the tournament, was attended by 53586 viewers.
The fans were not disappointed – the German team won a landslide victory over Switzerland 27:14 and immediately topped Group A.
The 2024 European Championships take place in Germany from January 10 to 28. At the preliminary stage, 24 teams are divided into six groups. The two best from each quartet will advance to the next round, at which two subgroups will be formed. Of these sextets, the best will go to the semi-finals, and the third teams will compete for 5th place.
