Skier Korostelev: “I haven’t won a single gold medal this season yet, it’s time to win it”

Skier Savely Korostelev said it was time for him to win a gold medal at competitions this season.

On Thursday, Korostelev took third place in the 15-kilometer time trial at the fifth stage of the Alfa-Bank Russian Cup, losing 53.1 seconds to winner Alexander Bolshunov. The second was Artem Maltsev (+46.9).

— How satisfied are you with today’s bronze?

– I’m happier than not. I was going to finish second, I thought I was fighting for that place. I’m happy to have such competition from Gorbunov, but in the end I was surprised that I won so little against him. The circuit here is difficult, almost all the relief is concentrated in the first half.

— What did Yegor Sorin say after the race?

— We haven’t spoken to him yet, but I’m trying to follow his goal of getting into the top 3 in every race. So I think he is satisfied.

— You have six awards so far this season. What are the intermediate results?

— There is room to move forward. So far, not a single gold medal, we have to take it, – reports correspondent Korostelev’s words.
