Second victory of the Ukrainian team in Group E
Prometheus beat the French Volero Le Cannet in the fifth round Women’s Volleyball Champions League.
In the first set, Ivan Petkov’s team won with a score of 25:20, and in the second set they left their opponents no chance – 25:13.
In the third game, Prometheus led 23:20, but failed in the ending – 24:26. In the fourth set, the Ukrainian team still brought the match to a final victory – 25:16.
This is Prometheus’s second victory in Group E. With six points, the Ukrainian team closes the standings, but is fighting to leave the group.
According to the regulations, the group winner directly advances to the quarter finals of the Champions League. The second teams of all five groups, as well as the best among third places, will compete for three more tickets to the quarterfinals. Four more teams that took third place will continue to compete in the quarterfinals of the CEV Cup.
In the last round of the group stage, Prometheus will play Alba Blaj. The fight is scheduled for January 16.
