Athletistic/Figure skating. Tatiana Tarasova, honored figure skating coach of the USSR, shared her opinion on the performance of Georgian figure skater Anastasia Gubanova in the short program of the European Championships.

“There are many Russian girls, for example, Gubanova. She is third now, but, in my opinion, she could be second. I hope that next year we will be allowed to compete and, God willing, when it will happen, we will be able to go out and “Russian athletes cannot be ignored in the development of figure skating, and over the past 20 years, it was the Russians who won the most medals,” Tarasova noted in an interview with TASS.

The judges rated Gubanova’s performance at 68.96 points. The leader of the competition, the Belgian Luna Hendrix, received 74.66 points. The 2024 European Figure Skating Championships take place in Kaunas (Lithuania) from January 10 to 14.
