Ukrainian luger Andrey Mandziy won bronze medal at the stage Nations Cup 2023/24 in Innsbruck (Austria).
In the men’s singles competition, Mandziy covered the distance in 50.326 seconds. The Ukrainian lost less than a second to the event winner Josef Ninis from Slovakia (0.071).
Mandzia’s compatriot Anton Dukach came sixth at the end of the competition. 19-year-old Daniil Martsinovsky took 18th place, thanks to which he managed to qualify for the upcoming World Cup in Innsbruck.
For Mandzia this is the second award this season. Previously, he finished second at the Nations Cup in Winterberg. The gap between the Ukrainian and the winner Kaspars Rinks from Latvia was 0.001 seconds.
The World Cup in Austria will be held on January 13-14. In addition, during the Nations Cup stage, the Luge Championship is held: this is the final tournament before the world championship in Altenberg, Germany.
