Burnley signs striker Fofana from Chelsea

The Blues player spent the first half of the season in Union Berlin

Attack Chelsea David Datro Fofana officially transferred to Burnley on loan until the end of the season.

Let us remind you that the London club recently recalled the 21-year-old Ivorian early from his loan at Union Berlin, where he spent the first half of the season.

It was known in advance that the striker would not remain in Mauricio Pochettino’s team, but would be sent out on another loan. It was assumed that he would go to Seville, but, obviously, the option of another Premier League club turned out to be more acceptable to interested parties.

As a member of Union, Fofana played 17 matches in all competitions, scored 2 goals (one in the Bundesliga, one in the Champions League) and gave one assist. His contract with Chelsea runs until 2029.

Chelsea are in 10th place in the Premier League. Burnley are in the relegation zone (19th place) with 12 points. Yesterday, January 12, in the home match of the 21st round, the Clarets played a draw with direct rival Luton (1:1).

On January 31, Fofana can make his debut for the new club in an away match with Manchester City.
