Prokofieva spoke about her experiences watching the final of the European Water Polo Championships

Olympic water polo medalist, player-coach of KINEF Surgutneftegaz Ekaterina Prokofieva told that she was worried while watching the final of the European Women’s Water Polo Championship.

In the final of the European Championship, the Dutch team defeated the Spanish team with a score of 8: 7. The tournament took place in Eindhoven.

— We watched the European Championship, it was interesting to watch even in terms of new moments of play, many new young faces appeared who looked very decent. There was a bit of nostalgia, but the game itself was exciting. The Dutch and Spain had a good match in the final, I was even worried.

— How are preparations going for the matches of the Russian Championship?

— The national team went to China for training matches, we had 1.5 months to resume preparations for the championship. We also had training camps, we were preparing, and next week we are already flying out and the matches of the Russian Championship begin.

— Is it possible for the club to go to a training session with a team from a European club?

— Now all the teams were preparing for the European Championship, so many were busy. So far it’s not even working as expected. We will get out of this situation alone. Our team went to training camp, practiced and prepared. Of course, training against a good European club is always useful, but such an opportunity does not exist yet.

—And the closer the Olympics get, the fewer such opportunities there will be?

“If we talk about clubs, this will most likely be the case,” Prokofieva told .
