Wilder’s trainer bets on AJ, but respects Francis
Malik Scottcoach of ex-world heavyweight champion Deontay Wildershared his forecast for the fight of his protégé’s failed opponent, Briton Anthony Joshua, against the ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou.
“I think Joshua will win. But I also thought Fury would win without a problem when he fought Ngannou.”
“It’s very difficult to judge Ngannou, but you have to praise him for what he did with Fury, you just have to do it.”
At the beginning of the year, promoter Eddie Hearn announced that his protégé Joshua would fight Ngannou next in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. The official press conference dedicated to the event will be held on January 15 in London.
The fight is expected to take place on March 9. Anthony’s fight with Deontay Wilder was scheduled for this date before the American lost to Joseph Parker.
At the end of December, Joshua confidently defeated Otto Wallin, who refused to continue the fight after the 5th round, as part of the “Day of Reckoning”. Anthony stated that he was ready to fight the next fight with anyone.
Ngannou lost a decision to WBC champion Tyson Fury in his only boxing fight. The Cameroonian made a good impression against the current champion title holder, knocking down the “Gypsy King” and inflicting several cuts on the Briton.
