Ukrainian Andrey Trushko became a participant in the European Chess Championship – European Rapid and Blitz Championship 2023. The competition took place in the capital of Croatia in the city of Zagreb. The young man attended the tournament with the support of the Department of Youth and Sports Affairs of the Desnyansk Regional State Administration, and assistance during the trip was also provided by a charitable foundation Favbet Foundation.

The young athlete attended the rapid and blitz chess championship in Europe, where he took 91st place among 150 participants.

Previously, a pupil of the Children and Youth Sports School No. 23 of the Desnyansky district of Kyiv had already won at the age of 17 at the Ukrainian Championship among adults. Andrey Trushko also fulfilled the standard for conferring the sports title “Master of Sports of Ukraine,” which he will receive this year.

“In our country there are not only real talents, but also real fighters for victory. Andrey Trushko is one of them. Andrey’s achievement is a testament to his strength and intelligence, so our foundation team will continue to support young talents. Sport unites, and Ukraine has every opportunity to distinguish itself in the world of chess thanks to such outstanding representatives.”,” commented the Favbet Foundation.

The team of the charitable foundation launched a large-scale project “Superheroes Club” with the goal of revealing superpowers in children. As part of the initiative Favbet Foundation has already organized three projects for children and teenagers from families of military personnel and IDPs. More than 5,500 Ukrainian schoolchildren received boxes with an office, and 352 young men received free IT training. The Favbet Foundation also laid the foundation for free football, basketball, wrestling and boxing sections, which still operate today, popularizing the sport.
