Leonova: “I wonder how Mozalev will cope with the difficult training with Tutberidze”

Transition of skaters Andrei Mozalev from coach Kirill Davydenko to the group Eteri Tutberidze indicates that the athlete is ready for serious changes in his career, Alena Leonova, silver medalist at the 2012 World Championships in single skating, told .

Previously, the media reported on the transfer of 20-year-old Mozalev to Tutberidze. Davydenko confirmed that after the New Year he stopped collaborating with Andrey.

— Mozalev is a capable guy, I really hope they parted with Davydenko on good terms, because their tandem was pretty good. Together they achieved decent results and made it to the Olympics. Andrey had some great seasons and in juniors he was generally one of the best. Time will tell what happens next; we know that the training process at Tutberidze headquarters is difficult. I wonder how Andrey will handle this. If he made such a decision, then he is ready to face difficult changes in his career,” Leonova told .

Mozalev, the 2020 junior world champion, took 11th place in the singles competition at December’s Russian Championships in Chelyabinsk.
