Corinthians announced the extension of the midfielder’s loan Miner Maicon until the end of 2024. The Brazilian club will pay the Miners 500 thousand euros for the deal.
The miner rejected Corinthians’ first offer to extend the lease, but agreed to the next one. The Pitmen also rejected the loan swap of Maicon for Corinthians midfielder Rony.
Earlier, the 26-year-old central midfielder said that he did not want to return to the Donetsk club because of the war in Ukraine. The miner understands this and met the player halfway.
Maicon’s contract with Shakhtar runs until December 2025. Last year, the midfielder played 58 matches for Corinthians, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists.
Corinthians took 13th place in the Brazilian Serie A. The new season in the Brazilian championship starts in April.
