Thirty-eight Russian track and field athletes included in international control group – ARAF

Thirty-eight Russian track and field athletes are part of the international control group of the independent body to combat negative phenomena in athletics (AIU), according to the website of the All-Russian Athletics Federation (ARAF).

As noted, after the changes made, there are 142 athletes in the national registered pool and 266 in the expanded pool.

The international test group includes, among others, Olympic high jump champion Maria Lasitskene, medalists of the World High Jump Championships Ilya Ivanyuk and Danil Lysenko, medalist of the World Triple Jump Championships Ekaterina Koneva, champion of Russia 400 meters Polina Tkalich. (Miller ), European Decathlon Championship medalist Ilya Shkurenev, European Pole Vault Championship medalist Timur Morgunov.

Inclusion in the target group obliges the athlete to provide timely information about his whereabouts.

In March last year, it was announced that ARAF was once again a member of World Athletics after seven years, but the Russians’ suspension from international competitions was extended due to the situation in Ukraine.
