Discussed the problems of the development of Ukrainian football in war conditions
Former Ukrainian football player and ex-coach of the Ukrainian national team Andrey Shevchenko in Lvov met with the heads of eight regional football associations of Ukraine.
The main topic of the conversation was the development of Ukrainian football, despite the full-scale war, as well as the restoration of trust in the Ukrainian Football Association. Shevchenko plans to hold the next meetings in Kyiv.
Let us remind you that on December 12, Andrei Shevchenko was officially nominated as a candidate for the post of president of the UAF. The ex-coach of the Ukrainian national team accepted the offer to run for a responsible post, taking time to prepare a program and select a team.
Shevchenko’s candidacy was supported by at least 19 permanent collective members of the organization out of 27 (and according to Vice-President Vadim Kostyuchenko – 23). The Ukrainian Premier League abstained from its vote, as it held its meeting before Shevchenko’s decision to participate in the elections. Shevchenko himself will be the only and uncontested candidate in the election of the head of the UAF.
The UAF Executive Committee officially approved the holding of the Extraordinary Congress of the UAF on January 25, 2024. The meeting will take place in the Kiev House of Football, starting at 12:00. At the same time, the congress agenda was approved, one of the items of which is “On the election of the UAF President.”
