Athletistic / Figure skating. Russian figure skater Andrei Mozalev explained the reasons for the transition to Eteri Tutberidze. Previously, the 20-year-old Russian trained under Kirill Davydenko.

“I decided that I had to change something in my life and do it radically. The most logical way is probably to change coaches. Of course, it’s my decision, I made it myself.

I didn’t consider other options, I only wanted to go to Tutbiridze. Of course, it was very difficult to make a decision on this, because Kirill Anatolyevich and I have been working together for a long time, he has become more than a coach for me. Yes, there is still some residue left. I never thought I would say to him one day: “I’m going to another coach”. And there I stand up and say these words. It really was like a dream. But in general, all my friends and family supported me,” Mozalev said, as quoted by Sport-Express.

Andrey Mozalev became a bronze medalist at the 2022 Russian Championship and managed to qualify for the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing (China). There he only took 19th place. In 2020, Mozalev became world champion among juniors, as well as silver medalist at the Youth Olympic Games. He received the title of international-class Master of Sports of Russia in 2021.
