Ukrainian Chukhadzhyan will fight with Scarff for the first line of the IBF welterweight rankings

Karen could take a step towards becoming a mandatory challenger and fight for the title again

Ukrainian boxer Karen Chukhadzhyan (23-2, 13 KO) received an offer to fight the British Harry Scarff (13-2, 3 KO) for first position rating IBF at welterweight.

The International Boxing Federation ordered an eliminator fight for the vacant first line of the ranking. Scarff’s side have reportedly already accepted the offer.

The IBF welterweight champion is American Jaron Ennis (31-0, 28 KOs). Let us remember that in January 2023, Chukhadzhyan lost the fight for the title of interim IBF champion, but at the same time managed to hold out the entire distance against a formidable knockout, which few people had previously succeeded in doing.

After that, Karen scored two knockout victories – over Venezuelan Michael Marcano in April and over Italian Pietro Rossetti in October, retaining the IBF Inter-Continental welterweight belt.

Scarff, 30, scored a points win over compatriot Ekow Essuman in November to move up the IBF rankings.
