Skier Stepanova: “I want a personal Olympic medal, I am moving towards this goal”

Olympic cross-country ski champion Veronica Stepanova in her column on , she admitted that she wanted to win a personal Olympic medal and was trying to achieve exactly that goal.

Stepanova is 23 years old, the athlete won the 2022 Olympic Games as part of the women’s relay team. By decision of the International Ski Federation (FIS), Russians and Belarusians were suspended from international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.

“I want a personal Olympic medal and I am moving towards my goal. All other competitions are intermediate grades, an opportunity to check the course. The way our sport works is that all efforts are focused on Olympic achievements. All teams start preparing for the next Olympics years in advance.
