Thanks to the successful presentation on the seventh day of the competition, our team climbed to fourth place in the medal standings of the tournament.
Ukraine continues its successful performance at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. On the seventh day of the competition, our athletes won six awards simultaneously in two sports – kickboxing and sport climbing.
Unfortunately, there was no gold in the piggy bank, but thanks to two silver and four bronze medals, the Blue-Yellows lifted the medal standings of the competition.
In climbing the discipline of speed, the bronze medalist of the World Games was 20-year-old Yaroslav Tkach, in the fight for third place, showing his best result-5:56 seconds.
Our athletes have successfully performed in kickboxing – five Ukrainians simultaneously claimed medals, and managed to win them. Orfan Sananzade (up to 63.5 kg) and Vitaly Dubina (up to 71 kg) became silver medalists of the World Games, losing in the “gold finals”, while Darina Ivanova (up to 52 kg), Alina Martynyuk (up to 60) . kg) and Roman Shcherbatyuk won bronze medals (over 91 kg).
Thus, Ukraine already has 32 medals – this is an absolute record for Ukrainians in the entire history of the World Games. Past success – 29 awards.
