16-year-old diver Manaenkova on her first title in the Czech Republic: she narrowly reached the final and won

Diver Uliana Manaenkova said she competed in the individual platform diving at the Russian Championships already tired and after performing poorly in the semi-finals she was not hoping for a medal.

On Thursday, 16-year-old Manaenkova won the Russian championship gold medal in individual platform diving for the first time in her career.

– After the semi-finals, I didn’t even hope to get into the top 3, because my condition was bad, the muscle was clogged in my arm – it was very bad for the muscle. And then it all worked out… somehow. I barely reached the final and won,” Manaenkova told .

– Which jump are you most satisfied with?

– From the cogwheel. I have already made such good attempts, but the jump itself is difficult, when such jumps are obtained, the sensations are simply breathtaking.

– Today on the tower you had very eminent competitors. Did it put you under mental pressure?

“Sometimes it hurts, sometimes it doesn’t matter. Today it didn’t matter.

Are you already jumping on fatigue?

– Yes, yesterday I had much more strength, today I barely reached the final.

– Maybe everything went well because there was no strength to worry?

– Maybe. And maybe that’s why it didn’t occur to me that prominent rivals were in the jump with me.
