The German is ready to let the Swede lead the Reds for a day
Head coach Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp suggested to the ex-England team coach Sven-Göran Eriksson visit his club and even expressed his readiness to give up his position to the Swede for a day.
This is how the German specialist reacted to the Swede’s admission of his passion for the Reds.
“Obviously, when you heard about it, it was very moving news. It was the first time I heard about his admiration and love for Liverpool and that he had been a fan all his life.”
“I will be absolutely glad to have him come here. He can sit in my place in my office and do my work during the day if he wants. It’s not a problem”.
“Being on the sidelines is probably a little difficult. Let him come here, they will show him everything here, and how this wonderful club has developed over the years, I think we will definitely tell him about it.”
“I’m sure he can come and spend some wonderful hours here,” Klopp said.
Let’s remember that Sven-Göran Eriksson recently admitted that he was diagnosed with terminal (incurable) cancer.
The Swede is known for his work in the England national team (2001 – 2006), Manchester City, Sampdoria and Lazio. During his career he also managed Benfica, Leicester and Mexico, among others. He won the UEFA Cup with Gothenburg, reached the KEC final with Benfica, became a Serie A triumph with Lazio, and with England twice reached the quarterfinals of the World Cup.
Liverpool leads the English Championship, two points ahead of Manchester City. Tomorrow, January 21, Klopp’s team will play away at Bournemouth.
