The fight ended in the seventh round
Ukrainian boxer, ex-IBO International champion Aram Faniyan (24-2, 6 KO) won the vacant WBF junior welterweight title.
Faniyan triumphed in battle with the Mexican Francisco Mercado (8-4, 5 KOs). The fight ended in the seventh round.
The meeting between Fanian and Mercado became central to the boxing evening at the Kiev Sports Palace, organized by the promotion company Sparta Boxing Promotions.
Several notable fights took place in the capital. Vladislav Gela defeated Andrey Tsyura in the fight for the Ukrainian and WBC Ukraine junior middleweight titles. And the UBO world champion in junior welterweight Nazri Rahimov defeated Gennady Gitlan from Moldova in a rating battle.
The goal of the charity boxing evening is to raise 5,000,000 UAH for the UNITED24 project to restore a sports school in Nikolaev. The event also included an auction with valuable sports and military lots, and the proceeds from it will be transferred to the consolidated paramilitary patrol police unit named after. Nestor Makhno and the Shock Company of the BpAK “Combat Khrushchi”.
