“It was unexpected to become champion of Russia in show jumping in an individual tournament” – figure skater Osokina

Figure skater Elizaveta Osokina playing in tandem with Artem Gritsaenko told that she did not expect to win the Russian show jumping championship.

The competition took place on January 20 and 21 at the CSKA Arena in Moscow. The Osokina/Gritsaenko duo became the winner of the individual tournament and second in the team tournament.

— How do you evaluate your debut?

– GOOD. We really enjoyed it, it was unexpected to be first in the individual tournament. We won such a hard fight! In the team tournament our team took second place, but we are still all very happy because we were together. Everyone supports each other and I would like to thank the audience. We really enjoy playing in public.

— What are your general emotions after this championship? Would you like to participate next year?

— We are very happy, everything happened so quickly that I couldn’t even believe that we were first in the individual tournament. Of course, I would like to participate again next year, such tournaments give a lot of emotions and energy,” Osokina told .
