Figure skater Elena Kostyleva escaped serious injury following a fall at the Russian Show Jumping Championship.
On Sunday, the 12-year-old athlete competed for the team Alexandra Galliamova at the tournament. In the final of the competition, Kostyleva had to perform a five-jump stunt. When performing the first element, the skater fell and injured her right hand, after which she went to the board and received help – they froze the injury site. After that, she tried to do the stunt again, but fell again and left the ice in tears.
— After Lena’s fall, everything turned out to be just a bruise. “Thank you to everyone who was sick and worried,” the figure skater’s mother, Irina Kostyleva, wrote on social media.
The final victory in the team tournament was won by the “blue” team, the captain of which was Dmitry Kozlovsky.
Earlier, Kostyleva won bronze in the singles show jumping tournament.
The Russian Show Jumping Championship took place on January 20 and 21 in Moscow, at the CSKA Arena.
