President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (RFSR) Elena Vyalbe in a conversation with a correspondent, she suggested that none of the Russian athletes would participate in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
On December 8, the IOC announced that it would allow qualified Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete in the 2024 Olympics in individual neutral status. The restriction means that representatives from these countries will not be able to compete in team disciplines. The IOC also banned the participation of athletes associated with security forces or who have expressed support for the CBO.
— Do you think that at least some Russians will participate in the Paris Olympics, or will everyone refuse?
— Oh, I have said it several times: thank you to the IOC for doing everything so that our young athletes have no chance. Some young people might still hesitate and decide to leave. But what kind of eyes would they come back with? They would definitely become the enemies of the entire country. But now no one has the slightest chance of going there. For this, I am very grateful to the IOC. I don’t think there will be any Russians there. Look better at the good competitions we have in our country,” Vyalbe told .
The Paris Olympic Games will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
