Former world champion Mora: Fury is the favorite for the fight with Usyk. We didn’t see a real attacking machine in Alexander

The fight between Usik and Fury for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will take place on February 17 in Riyadh

Former WBC junior middleweight champion Sergio Mora commented on the fight for the title absolute world heavyweight champion between the world champion according to WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO Alexander Usik and holder of the WBC championship belt Tyson Fury.

“I will give preference to Tyson Fury. RSize also matters, and the difference in dimensions will be too big,” says Mora.

“If Fury was a stationary target, then I would give preference to Usyk, I think he is great. But the fact is that Tyson Fury is good at body work, footwork. He moves, strikes his opponents, clinches, backs away, he is quite elusive for a person with large dimensions, and despite how professional Usyk is, Fury’s size exceeds this.”

“Usyk defeated those boxers who had previously lost – Joshua, Dubois… Tyson has confidence. He fell many times and got up every time. This shows how brave, courageous and strong-willed he is. He got hit by one of the greatest punchers in boxing history, Deontay Wilder, and at the same time stood up, got stronger and won.”

“Usyk has neither the size nor the strength of Wilder. A completely different fighter. I think it will be a stylish fight that Fury will adapt to very well. Fury is a cunning fighter. Fury is one of those fighters who can work at second pace. He can put up a dirty fight inside, tormenting the enemy. We’ve seen a little bit of everything with Fury. As for Usik, we didn’t see him as a real attacking machine [в супертяжелом весе]”

The Usik-Fury fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will officially take place on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Initially, the fight was planned to be organized on December 23 in Riyadh. However, it later became clear that Tyson would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.

Both boxers are actively preparing for a head-to-head confrontation. In the Ukrainian camp are compatriot Vladimir Katsuk, Serbian Sanel Hasanovic, German Emanuel Odiase and experienced Pole Mariusz Wach.

The undercard of the Usyk-Fury fight will feature former IBF world cruiserweight champion Jay Opetaya, 19-year-old Moses Ithauma and IBF world super featherweight champion Joe Cordina.
