“Technically the girl is great, maybe she will be cooler than Trusova” – choreographer Zheleznyakov about Bazylyuk

Choreographer Alexey Zheleznyakov commented on the results of the Russian Show Jumping Championship and also compared Margarita Bazylyuk and Olympic silver medalist Alexander Trusov.

The Russian Show Jumping Championship took place from January 20 to 21 at the CSKA Arena in Moscow. Elizaveta Osokina and Artem Gritsaenko won in the duet, Arseny Fedotov won in the men’s singles and 12-year-old Bazylyuk won in the women’s singles. In the team tournament, Dmitry Kozlovsky’s team celebrated its success.

— I liked the tournament. When you see that your former students are skipping things (we are talking about Margarita Bazylyuk) that no one else in the world has skipped, of course you rejoice. They are still your children. This idea is fresh and interesting. Moreover, in the absence of international competitions, such competitions should be organized a little more often for the whole country. For adolescents and children, it is a certain motivation, which also gives them an impetus to work more on themselves in sport.

— Is Margarita Bazylyuk the new Trusova?

– Only time will tell. Margot is still, one might say, a child, and to compare with Alexandra… Firstly, in terms of physics, in terms of “physics”, she is completely different. It’s a dangerous sport, it’s impossible to predict anything. But technically, the girl is awesome. She is also very hardworking. Maybe it will be cooler than Trusova, or maybe life will take such a turn that something won’t work out.

—Was it a good idea to allow juniors to compete? And which of them impressed you?

– Why not? This is not a specific departure, where there are strict regulations and age limits. More of a spectacle, I suppose. It is also interesting for the athletes themselves. Juniors can compete among themselves and adults can compete. This turns out to be an interesting story: it seems like a competition, but also like a spectacle. Of course, I liked and amazed Arseny Fedotov and Margarita Bazylyuk, they were of course smart, they shot, ”said Zheleznyakov, quoted by Metaratings.ru.
