Benzema wants to leave Al-Ittihad due to psychological pressure

The Frenchman also rejected the option of loaning to another club from Saudi Arabia.

Attack Karim Benzema wants to leave Al-Ittihad due to psychological pressure. The Frenchman is determined to move to another team on a temporary basis, the player’s entourage said.

Al-Ittihad tried to arrange a loan of the striker to another club from Saudi Arabia. However, Karim rejected this option.

Let us remind you that Benzema was suspended by head coach Marcelo Gallardo from the winter tournament in Dubai. The Frenchman returned late from vacation and missed official team events. It is reported that Benzema’s conversation with Gallardo took place in a raised voice. Since then, Karim has been training individually in Jeddah.

It was previously reported that Manchester United were interested in the Frenchman. However, the request from the Red Devils was rejected.

The 2022 Ballon d’Or winner moved to Al Ittihad in July last year. Benzema made 20 appearances for the Saudi Arabian club in all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing 5 assists.

Al Ittihad is ranked seventh in the Saudi Arabian Championship. Benzema’s team lost their last three matches, including to Al Nasr to Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane. The championship in Saudi Arabia has been suspended for the duration of the Asian Cup.
