The Hammers will have an option to buy the midfielder from Manchester City
Midfielder Manchester City Kalvin Phillips will go to West Ham on a rental basis. The Hammers will have the option to buy out the player’s contract at the end of the season.
West Ham have agreed terms with City and the player. Calvin will undergo a medical examination on Wednesday, after which the deal will be officially announced.
It was previously reported that Man City head coach Pep Guardiola planned to discuss options for further cooperation or transfer with the player in January. At the same time, Kalvin firmly decided to leave and get a stable playing experience at another club in 2024.
The midfielder’s contract with the City runs until the summer of 2028. Phillips has played 10 matches in all competitions this season, scoring one goal.
Manchester City is second in the Premier League with 43 points. West Ham are in sixth position with 35 points.
