Figure skater Anastasia Michina who performs in pair skating with Alexander Gallyamov, said on the air of the Telegram channel that they are not yet planning to complicate the programs, since they are winning with the current set of elements.
This season, Mishina and Gallyamov won gold at the Russian Championship and also won two stages of the Russian Grand Prix. At the Russian Show Jumping Championship in Moscow, they took third place.
— Are you planning to complicate the programs, are you forming quadruple elements?
— As long as we deliver our content, we can win with it. If that’s not enough, we’ll add complexity. We have such an opportunity, we are forming complex elements,” Mishina noted.
— Previously, in the free program, we jumped salchow-salchow. The rules changed after the Olympics, it became possible to do a sequence, it counts as a stunt. We can assume that this season we are becoming more complex, little by little, that’s how the picture is shaping up,” Gallyamov said.
Mishina and Gallyamov are 2021 world champions, 2022 European champions, Beijing Olympic champions in team competitions, and 2022 Games bronze medalists in pairs skating.
Russian figure skaters have been suspended from participating in competitions under the auspices of the International Skating Union (ISU) since March 2022 due to the situation in Ukraine.
