According to Bogachuk, Alexander is ready for serious challenges in his career
Ukrainian boxer, contender for the title of interim WBC junior middleweight champion Sergei Bogachuk commented on the upcoming fight for the undisputed title between the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and champion according to WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO versions Alexander Usik.
“I think Usyk will win. Thanks for what he deserved. He’s a real hard worker. He does such a volume of work. He is also physically strong. And intellectually. Cool kid. Cool boxer. What he does. What he has already achieved… Usik is a legend. What he does is simply incredible.”
“I don’t know if there has ever been such a heavy situation in history. He is so fast and agile that he can give a middleweight fighter a run for his money. And he does all this with heavy weight. To be honest, I don’t think Usik will quit boxing after this fight. I think he will move on. And there may be even more interesting boxers there.”
The Usyk-Fury fight will officially take place on February 17. The title of absolute heavyweight champion will be at stake. The event will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The special guest of the event will be Lennox Lewis.
Both boxers are actively preparing for a head-to-head confrontation. In the Ukrainian camp are compatriot Vladimir Katsuk, Serbian Sanel Hasanovic, German Emanuel Odiase and experienced Pole Mariusz Wach.
The undercard of the Usyk-Fury fight will feature former IBF world cruiserweight champion Jay Opetaya, 19-year-old Moses Ithauma and IBF world super featherweight champion Joe Cordina.
Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.
Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.
