According to the Czech, Yastremska dominated the match and nothing could be done about it
Czech tennis player Linda Noskova commented on her defeat from the Ukrainian Dayana Yastremskaya in the singles quarterfinals Australian Open 2024.
“Today was very hot compared to other days. She played very fast. I felt like I wasn’t 100% on the court today, probably because I barely played the previous match and had two days off.”
“I couldn’t tune in to the match from the very beginning and immerse myself in it. So she was leading the score all the time and was in control of the situation. It wasn’t what I wanted, but there was nothing I could do about it.”
“I was expecting a tough match, but I think I didn’t play quite the way I should have. It’s not that it was easy for her to be ahead in the score all the time, but I didn’t have a lot of winners and aces, so I wasn’t really helping myself and I wasn’t making her life that much harder.”
Let us remind you that 19-year-old Noskova lost to Yastremskaya in two sets (3:6, 4:6) in the battle for the semifinals. Before this, the Czech woman created a real sensation by knocking out the world’s first racket Iga Szwiatek from Poland in the third round. In the 1/8 finals, Linda defeated the first racket of Ukraine, Elina Svitolina, on refusal.
Yastremskaya reached the semifinals of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in her career. In the semi-finals of the Australian Open, Dayana will play against the 12th racket of the tournament, Chinese Qin Wen Zheng.
