“We can only wish that children show themselves at the adult level” – Pogorilaya about the performance of juniors at the Chechen Show Jumping Championships

Winner of the World and European Figure Skating Championships Anna Pogorilaya in a conversation with , she wished that the juniors who participated in the Russian show jumping championship would show themselves at the adult level.

In the women’s singles tournament, 12-year-old Margarita Bazylyuk won, and 14-year-old Arseny Fedotov won the men’s competition.

— At the show jumping tournament, Bazylyuk was the first in the world among girls to perform a stunt of two quadruple Salchow. Did this impact you?

– Yes, I was very surprised. She has a very good spin, good technique, in principle, all this is assumed. Maybe they even practice a cascade of two quadruple toe loops. It’s even more serious. The boys were also very satisfied: the older and younger generations.

The show jumping tournament is very spectacular, even a little scary. I would like to see these children as adults, I hope we still enjoy them.

— I heard two opinions about the girls’ performances. First: it is scary how the load will affect the bones in the future. Second: Children recover quickly, and if we don’t try now, when? How do you think?

— I agree with each of these theses. A child’s body recovers quickly, but at an older age it is more difficult. During these two days, we witnessed an incredible number of quadruple jumps from young athletes. The load is colossal. Arseny Fedotov’s jumps, for example, are neither violent nor traumatic, but gentle. u [Лены] Kostyleva had a terrible jump, she couldn’t get out at the end, she was tired.

I love watching not only the elements, but also the beautiful skating. Progress cannot be stopped. We can only wish that children show themselves at the adult level,” Pogorilaya said in an interview with .
