“Many parents are afraid of violence in sports. Around figure skating, there are indeed many real and not entirely real stories about harsh education methods. In my entire sports career, I have not not encountered such a situation. However, I know that some of the famous figure skaters unfortunately encountered this.
Any type of physical influence on a child, whether it is raising a hand, using a jump rope or a blanket, is absolutely unacceptable. Violence cannot be justified. However, as this issue becomes a topic of discussion more and more often today, I see that coaches are beginning to rethink their behavior and education methods. They are looking for more humane ways to communicate with children.
I believe that young coaches who have recently finished their career and remember what it is like to be next to an athlete will definitely not use such methods towards their players,” said Tuktamysheva in an interview with Mel.FM.
