On Wednesday, January 24, an incident occurred during a junior tournament in Moscow. 14-year-old figure skater Maria Simonova, performing in a duet with Martin Breslavsky, fell and hit her head on the ice. She was then hospitalized. The athlete’s mother, Irina Simonova, spoke about this.
– To be honest, I’m just starting to get over the shock, I’m just starting to realize what happened. The ambulance took us out of the rink – I got in with Masha, Martin, her partner, followed us to the hospital with Betina Popova. Our coach Sergei Roslyakov also came to the hospital,” Simonova was quoted as saying by TASS.
