Olympic medalist in diving Alexandre Bondar withdrew from individual competitions on the tower at the Russian Championships due to rising temperatures.
The Russian Championship takes place in Penza. Earlier, Russian national team head coach Svetlana Moiseeva told the crew that Bondar had suffered health problems this week.
As a result, Bondar nevertheless withdrew from the final.
“He has a fever again,” the press service of the Russian Diving Federation told .
The start is a qualification for the performance at the Friendship Games and the Spartakiad of the strongest. Earlier, Moiseeva said there will be no exceptions in the selection. “Only the principle of sport. It was announced right away,” she added.
Bondar previously qualified for the Friendship Games in synchronized diving with Ruslan Ternov and mixed doubles with Anna Konanykhina.
