Russia will not host the Figure Skating Grand Prix next season

Russia will not host the Figure Skating Grand Prix series in the 2024/25 season, according to the International Skating Union (ISU) website.

Previously, the ISU Council approved the season calendar, which did not confirm the location of the fifth stage, scheduled for November 15-17, 2024. On Friday it was announced that the competition would take place in Helsinki. The cities in which the remaining stages will take place have not yet been determined. The Russian stages are not included in the calendar.

The full Grand Prix series schedule for the upcoming season is as follows:

first stage – United States (October 18-20),

second stage – Canada (October 25-27),

third stage – France (November 1-3),

fourth stage – Japan (November 8-10),

fifth stage – Helsinki, Finland (November 15-17)

sixth stage – China (November 22-24)

Grand Prix Final (adults and juniors) – Orléans, France (December 5-8).

Early last year, the ISU confirmed the suspension of Russian athletes from competitions under the auspices of the organization. This decision was made in 2022 in the context of the situation in Ukraine.
