The second high-profile transfer of the Miners in the winter transfer window
Miner officially announced the transfer of midfielder Vasco da Gama Marlon Gomez. The 20-year-old Brazilian signed a contract with the Ukrainian club until the end of 2028.
It was reported that Marlon’s move would cost the Pitmen €12 million. Vasku can receive another 4 million in the form of additional bonuses.
Marlon played 27 matches for Vaska in all tournaments of the 2023 season, scoring one assist. In September, the midfielder made his debut for the Brazil U-23 national team.
In January, Shakhtar also signed Palmeiras winger Kevin. In addition, the Donetsk club is negotiating for Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Martin Baturina.
The miner is at a training camp in Turkey. The miners held two sparring matches, beating Lech (3:1) and Pyunik (2:0).
Marino Pusic’s team will play in the 1/16 of the Europa League, where its opponent will be Marseille. In the Ukrainian Championship, the Miners are in fourth place, three points behind the leaders, but with two matches in hand.
