Figure skater Maria Simonova said she was released from hospital after a fall during the tournament.
Simonova performs in pair skating with Martin Breslavsky. The fall occurred during the execution of a short program of the junior competition “For the FFKM President’s Prizes”. Breslavsky was unable to hold Simonova and dropped her partner to the ice; during the fall, the 14-year-old figure skater hit her head. The athletes were able to continue the competition and complete their performance, but Simonova was hospitalized.
– I got out of the hospital, now we are going home, everything is fine. Thank you very much to everyone who came to me, wrote me words of support, gave gifts and was interested in my well-being, I am very, very happy. I am surprised that so many people wrote and supported, thank you very much again,” Simonova wrote on the Telegram channel.
