Mikhailichenko: I haven’t played for a long time, and I wanted to be in the team, so I chose Polesie

Bogdan experienced serious problems at Dinamo Zagreb after the arrival of a new coach

Newbie Polesiedefender Bogdan Mikhailichenkoshared his impressions of his new team, and also spoke about the problems he experienced in Dinamo Zagreb.

“I am very happy that I moved to Polesie, this is a very strong team, a very ambitious team that sets high goals for itself, and therefore I am very happy to come to this team.”

“I had a hard time in Zagreb. I hadn’t played for a long time, and I wanted to be in a team, so I chose Polesie. Because I knew the team, I knew the guys, I knew that the team always wants to win, and that’s very interesting to me.”

“Zagreb period? I can say that it was a difficult time. At first everything was fine, when I first switched, I played all the games. When the coach changed, a very difficult time began and I was removed from the team, and I trained alone or with the youth team. I trained with the youth team twice a week because they had games, and the rest of the time I trained myself. Terrible”.

Let us remind you that on January 25, Polesie officially signed Mikhailichenko until 2026. Earlier, Bogdan joined Polesie at a training camp in Spain, taking part in a sparring against Real Murcia (2:1).

The 26-year-old player is a graduate of Dynamo Kyiv. Bogdan previously played for Zorya, Shakhtar, Anderlecht, and spent the autumn part of the season in Dinamo Zagreb.

The Ukrainian was not included in the plans of the coaching staff of the Croatian team. Zagreb coach Sergei Yakirovich suspended the player from training with the main team due to the behavior of the defender. In total, in the autumn part of the season, Mikhailichenko played 15 matches for Dynamo in all tournaments, scoring two assists.

At the training camp in Spain, the Zhytomyr team planned four sparring sessions. Today, January 27, Yuri Kalitvintsev’s team will fight with Stal Mielec (Poland), on February 2 – with the Swedish Kalmar, on the 7th – with the Icelandic Stjarnan.

Polissya ranks third in the UPL, two points behind leaders Krivbass and Dnepr-1. The next official match, Kalitvintsev’s team will play away against Rukh in the 18th round. The base date is February 24.
