Silver medalist of the Russian Championship Pierre Gumennik told reporters that on the day of the short program at the St. Petersburg Championship, he passed the mathematical analysis exam.
On Saturday morning, the St. Petersburg championship began at the Figure Skating Academy. Gumennik presented a short program and scored 98.64 points.
– I feel good! I am happy that on such a day we managed to show a good performance. Even though this rink cannot accommodate a large number of spectators, they supported me well.
This morning I took a calculus exam. I feel like I wrote it well. The grade will be known tomorrow. I love it when something can distract me on competition day. I was able to calmly skate what I could. You sit during the exam and tweet with your pen. And there you have it, you have to go there, sit down, turn. This is more difficult to achieve.
— Do they take autographs there?
“Once a teacher took an autograph from me,” reports Gumennik’s words.
The St. Petersburg Championship will take place at the Academy of Figure Skating on January 27-28.
