The result of the 23-year-old Ukrainian is 27th final place
Ukrainian Evgeniy Marusyak took the final 27th place in the individual competition 2024 World Ski Flying Championships.
After the first day of competition, the Ukrainian was in 27th place. The athletes were scheduled to perform two jumps today, but one attempt was canceled due to bad weather conditions.
In the third attempt, Marusyak jumped 185 meters (154.1 points), which allowed Evgeniy to score a total of 474.5 points and maintain 27th position. This is a record result for Ukraine at world flight championships. Austrian Stefan Kraft became world champion.
Previously, Marusyak, in company with compatriot Vitaly Kalinichenko, became a co-author of the historical achievement. On January 3 in Innsbruck, two Ukrainians not only reached the main round, but also made it into the top 40 at the Four Hills Tournament. Vitaly took 40th place at that competition, and Evgeniy took 35th place, a record for Ukraine.
On February 3-4, Ukrainian athletes will perform at the Ski Jumping World Cup in Willingen, Germany.
