The Ukrainian-Latvian duo failed to win the title.
Ukrainian tennis player Lyudmila Kichenok, partner of Latvian Elena Ostapenko, lost in the doubles final of the Australian Open 2024.
The Ukrainian-Latvian duo lost a decisive match in two sets to Elise Mertens from Belgium and Xie Shuwei from Chinese Taipei – 1:6, 5:7.
The opponents spent 1 hour and 34 minutes on court. Kichenok and Ostapenko served four times, committed five double faults and converted two of three break points.

Note that the tandem of Kichenok and Ostapenko played in the final of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time. Their previous highest finishes were the Roland Garros and Wimbledon semi-finals in 2022.
