Silver medalist of the Russian Figure Skating Championship Pierre Gumennik said he overdid it when preparing for an exam at a university and therefore received an “excellent” grade.
On Sunday, Gumennik won the St. Petersburg championship, scoring 300.29 points based on the results of two programs.
“I prepared for the exam with a B, but I overdid it and ended up getting an A.”
Everything went well with the rental. Even if I didn’t do the most difficult content, especially the Salchow. I usually show it better during competitions. I don’t see a points cap, I don’t think about grades. My job is to bring the content of the programs to automaticity so that the technique succeeds in any situation. When everything is thus accomplished, there remains energy for art.
I would especially like to thank Tamara Nikolaevna [Москвину] for the support! This isn’t the first time she’s taken me out on the ice. “I was very supportive of the Russian Championship,” reports a correspondent, according to Gumennik.
The competitive program of the St. Petersburg Championship will be complemented by the free program for sports couples.
