Athletistic/Figure skating. The decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva will be carefully analyzed and the competent authorities will take the necessary additional measures. This was reported by the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR).

The CAS issued a decision to disqualify Valieva for four years for violation of anti-doping rules related to the Russian Championships events in December 2021. According to this decision, the athlete should be stripped of all her medals from December 25, 2021, including including gold from the team tournament of the 2022 Olympic Games and the 2022 European Championships. The CAS decision can, however, be challenged before the Swiss Federal Court within 30 days.

“The FFKKR is not involved in the process regarding the Kamila Valieva case and receives information from the same sources as everyone else. The Federation has no right to provide official comments. The information provided today will be carefully analyzed and all necessary measures will be taken with the competent bodies concerned,” indicated the FFKKR.
