Sidorchuk: Bosnia and Herzegovina is a good team, but we have a goal

The midfielder noted the emergence of new promising players in UPL clubs

Midfielder for Westerlo and the Ukrainian national team Sergei Sidorchuk shared his expectations regarding the qualifying playoff match European Championship 2024 With Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“As for Bosnia, they are a good team. We understand perfectly well how difficult it will be to visit them. We’ve been there before, and these are tough matches – not only because of a good opponent, but also because of the passionate fans who are full participants in the game.”

“But we have a goal. The Ukrainian national team really wants to please our fans by qualifying for the European Championship. Euro 2024 is the last European Championship for anyone from our team. It could be a first for many. Therefore, it is worth competing for.”

“At the national team camp you see how much our foreign players are progressing. Then you follow Shakhtar, Dynamo, Dnepr-1, Polesie, Krivbass – there are many new names everywhere, pleasant discoveries, good sporting prospects. We really have a very good team, so there’s no need to explain to the guys how important it is to give your all in the playoffs.”

“We ask Ukrainians around the world to support us on their TV screens, and those who can directly at the stadiums. It is very important. We are one team with you.”

Earlier, the head coach of the Ukrainian national team, Sergei Rebrov, said that his headquarters was reviewing many players before forming the final application. Assistant coach Vicente Gomez attended Polesie’s sparring with Polish Steel at a training camp in Spain.

The Ukrainian national team will play away against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the semi-finals of the playoffs for the 2024 European Championship on March 21 in the city of Zenica, at the Bilino Pole stadium. If successful, Rebrov’s team will meet with the winner of the Israel-Iceland confrontation. The final match will be a “home” match for the blue-yellows and will take place on March 26.

Euro 2024 will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024. The matches of the European Championship will be held in arenas in Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart.
