Krivbass leads the UPL after the autumn part of the season
Head coach Krivbassa Yuri Vernidub shared his expectations for the spring part of the season. The coach assessed his team’s chances in the fight for the UPL championship.
“We want to take a place that will allow us to compete in European competitions. I already miss European tournaments. Every coach dreams of a championship, and I am no exception. Krivbass has a good chance and needs to try to fight. But this is only mental, and we’ll see how it will be in the second round. I really want my guys to look much better in the second part of the championship than in the first. Every tour will be a championship for us.
“As for the first round, there is only positivity. Be that as it may, Krivbass is at the top. Dynamo and Shakhtar have matches in hand, but they still need to be won. Therefore, it would be rude of me to cry or complain about something. I am very pleased with my guys and the place that Krivbass occupies.”
“I, like all players, now want to hold on to this place and not let it go. But to keep it, you need to look even better in the second round. There is a lot of work ahead.”
Vernidub’s team is at a training camp in Spain. In control matches, the Krivoy Rog team beat Piast (2:0), Ferencvaros (2:0), and lost to Victoria Pilsen (0:3). In total, the team planned ten sparring sessions at the winter training camp.
Krivbass went to the winter break as the leader of the UPL. Yuri Vernidub’s team scored 34 points and is ahead of Dnepr-1 in additional indicators. Krivbass will play the next official match with LNZ.
