Athletistic/Figure skating. Katarina Gerboldt, coach and bronze medalist of the Russian Women’s Singles Figure Skating Championship, expressed her opinion on the decision of the International Skating Union (ISU) to deprive the Russian team of gold medals for the tournament team figure skating at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing after Kamila Valieva was disqualified for anti-doping rule violations.

Herboldt expressed his resentment towards Valieva and other athletes who did not receive the accolades they deserved. She raised the question of why the decision was made after so long. Many questions have been raised as to why no action was taken before the Olympics if the presence of doping was already known. Despite the current situation, Herboldt expressed his sympathy and wished Valieva patience. She also stressed that she would personally continue to consider the Russian team as Olympic champions.
