“The Russian Olympic Committee intends to appeal the ISU decision on the redistribution of places in the team figure skating tournament at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS ).Our lawyers have already started preparing the necessary documents for the appeal.
We assume that under current ISU rules, the consequences of sanctions against an individual athlete, like Kamila Valieva, cannot justify reviewing the results of a team tournament. Our legal position is based, among other things, on precedents in CAS practice,” reads a statement published by the ROC press service.
