The ban is counted from the moment the sample was taken – December 25, 2021. Additionally, Valieva was deprived of fourth place at the 2022 Beijing Olympics and removed from the women’s tournament protocol. Anna Shcherbakova won gold with 255.95 points.

Due to Valieva’s disqualification, the results of the team competition at the 2022 Beijing Games, as well as the singles tournament, have been revised.

The ISU decided to strip the Russian team of gold in the team figure skating tournament at the 2022 Olympics after learning that figure skater Kamila Valieva had been found guilty of anti-doping rule violations. Trimetazidine, a banned drug, was found in a sample taken from a Russian woman in December 2021.

The Russian team took first place in the team tournament of the 2022 Games, but after Valieva’s withdrawal, the results were revised and the gold medal was awarded to the United States. Silver went to the Japanese team, and the Russian team took third place.

In addition, Valieva was deprived of the gold medal at the 2022 European Championships. The prize was awarded to Anna Shcherbakova.
